This is a well made toaster. I’ve had mine for many years and it shows no wear and tear. The slots are wide enough for bagels, and long enough to put a couple slices in the same side. The dial allows you to adjust the temp if you like your food toasted lighter or darker. It has a preset bagel button, a defrost button, and a handy keep warm. The Kitchen Aid 4-Slice Empire Red Long Slot Toaster was an excellent addition with my other Red Kitchen Aid appliances. The toaster heats evenly and is versatile with handling bagels, brioche and other bread products simultaneously. It was a great buy!. Though not perfect, this is as good a toaster as this bread/toast-a-holic has used.
